ELEMENTARY

During the Elementary years, TCS inspires students to build strong foundations in Reading, Spelling, Comprehension, and Math. Students also participate in related arts such as Music, PE, and Art, which foster creativity and support the development of the whole child.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

TCS encourages middle schoolers to build godly character by living biblical truths and deepening their relationship with Christ. Building on strong foundations, students are challenged with a purposeful, faith-based curriculum that prepares them for high school. Core subjects are rooted in a biblical worldview while students also develop skills in music, speech, and technology.

HIGH SCHOOL

We believe every student has unique, God-given abilities, and we strive to develop each one to be a well-prepared leader who is equipped to impact the world for Christ. Our rigorous academics extend beyond graduation requirements, blending broad exposure with a strong biblical foundation. Students engage in lab sciences, fine arts, extracurricular activities, and community service. Through biblical guidance and career support, we help them discover their purpose and live it boldly.

ELECTIVES FOR HIGH SCHOOL

Trinity Christian is committed to providing a well-rounded academic experience that cultivates both intellectual growth and practical skills. To enrich and expand our students’ education, we offer a diverse selection of elective courses. Regular offerings include Dramatic Speech, Public Speaking, Consumer Science, Choir, Handbells, Art, and Finance. Additional electives in writing, literature, technology, and science are periodically available, allowing students to further explore their academic interests and develop a broad foundation for future success.

TCS has adjusted its secondary class schedule so that students can pursue personal interests and receive professional instruction from the Concord Regional Technical Center (CRTC).  Students who are accepted into the CRTC program enjoy practical training and acquire technical skills that help prepare them for both college and vocational opportunities.

TESTING

Trinity Christian School measures student progress by using a variety of assessment tools in order to determine what students know and how they perform academically. These instruments also serve to provide objective measurements of student aptitude and achievement. Students in Kindergarten through grade twelve (12) undergo the Iowa Assessments (previously the Iowa Test of Basic Skills), as it has been a standard of excellence in nationally-based achievement tests for over 80 years.

TCS students consistently receive scores that rank in the 70th percentile on these achievement tests. The results of these tests assist the school in evaluating our academic program, provide data for our ongoing school improvement plan, and allow us to evaluate our students’ progress over their careers.

Part of the graduation requirement for Trinity’s secondary students is the completion of either the ACT or the SAT college admissions tests during their junior and senior years. The composite scores for Trinity in comparison with the National and State composite scores for the ACT (which is taken by a majority of TCS students) are listed below.

In essence, each year that students attend TCS, they are evaluated on their academic performance, and these data points serve to assist the school in evaluating program and direction.
